Until now, Jigsy has been “in-the-moment”: turn up, solve the day’s puzzles, feel briefly clever, leave. Lovely – but nothing carried over. From today, it does.
Three new things
Daily streaks. Play at least one puzzle a day and your streak climbs. Miss a day and it resets to one. Your week of play now shows as a row of coloured pips on the results screen, one for each difficulty you’ve cleared.
Scores. Every solve earns points – 100 for Classic, 250 for Pro, 500 for Extreme – with a small bonus for finishing quickly, and a bonus for clearing all three in a day. Nothing to think about; it just adds up as you play.
A weekly leaderboard. Scores from Monday to Sunday feed a weekly leaderboard, alongside two streak boards: who’s on the longest run right now, and the best streaks of all time. It resets every week, so there’s always a fresh chance to climb.
You don’t need an account to start
Everything works straight away, saved on your device – no sign-up required. But your device’s memory is a fragile thing. Clear your browser, switch to your phone, and your streak is gone.
So once you’ve got a few days going, Jigsy will nudge you to create a free account. It takes a few seconds, and it means your streak, scores and history follow you across devices – and let you appear on the leaderboard.
On privacy: an account needs only an email address, used purely to sign you in and verify it’s you. It is never shown to anyone. On the leaderboard you appear as a randomly-generated username (which you can change), never your email.
We also have more plans for accounts underway – being able to play older puzzles from the daily archives. Build your own levels and challenge others. Watch this space!
Have a go
Solve today’s puzzles, start a streak, and see where you land. If something looks off – a score that doesn’t add up, a streak that shouldn’t have broken – tell us. It’s brand new, and your reports make it better.
